Will my dog get frustrated and give up?
Most dogs initially try to tip or flip the bowl — the non-slip base prevents this. After a minute of trial and error, most dogs engage with the puzzle properly and start working food out section by section. Start by loosely placing food in the sections (not packed in tightly) so the challenge is achievable on first use. Reduce difficulty incrementally as your dog learns.
Is it suitable for cats?
Yes — cats that eat too quickly can use this bowl too. The shallower sections with raised texture work well for cats, whose more delicate tongue action extracts food differently from dogs. Some cats take longer to engage with the puzzle than dogs but most adapt within a few sessions.
How do I clean it?
Rinse under warm running water after each use to flush food out of the textured sections. For dried-on food, soak in warm water for a few minutes first to loosen residue. The puzzle can be disassembled — remove the spinning inner disc from the outer base — for easier access to the maze grooves. Top-rack dishwasher safe.
Is it suitable for wet food as well as dry?
Yes — the raised walls of each section contain wet food well. Wet food in the grooves is slightly harder to clean after, so rinse promptly after feeding wet food to prevent residue drying in the textured sections. The puzzle works particularly effectively with kibble due to the size and shape of dry food interacting with the maze walls.
